Background: 

Dangerous Goods by Air, Training Centre was established in January 1997, in Brisbane. Preparation of course materials took 12 months. Training commenced in Brisbane in February 1998. Training may be conducted in all States within Australia and also in the Pacific region, e.g. PNG.

 

Location:

The training room is located at 40 French street, Eagle Farm Qld. 4007 (10 minutes drive from Brisbane Airport). Training may also be conducted at client’s premises provided a suitable venue is available. Training is also provided throughout Queensland and  interstate when and as required.

 

Instructor: 

Raymond Mackie, has 50 years experience in the Airline industry working in Australia and overseas. Has been involved in training for more than 30 years. Has worked in all facets of the industry, passenger handling, cargo, ramp, sales, airport management, quality assurance, training, involved in management for 20 years.

Established a dangerous goods training school in Cairns in 1991 and moved to Brisbane in 1998 to establish current training organisation.

 

Client base

We provide training to major Airlines in Australia and overseas (for air and sea transportation) , Freight Forwarders, Courier Companies, Shippers such as, oil companies, aerospace industry, hospitals and pathological laboratories, pharmaceutical companies (Infectious substances), universities, cosmetic manufacturers, assay laboratories, etc.

 

Training for Shippers

Shippers have the choice of selecting any specific class of dangerous (1 day course) goods or complete training for the full nine classes ( 2 days or 3 days including Radioactive material).

 

Training Syllabus

Complies with the requirements of CASA (Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority), IATA (International Air Transport Association) and ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) , all training for Air Transportation is approved CASA.

Training for Sea Freight is approved by AMSA (Australian Maritime Safety Authority).

We also offer training for Road (excluding bulk transportation) and Rail transportation.

 

Load distribution and restraint training (LDR) 

IATA endorsed training program, for Shippers, Freight Forwarders, Airlines personnel (Cargo handing, Load planners, Load Masters, Ramp personnel etc.), who load cargo containers (ULD, unit load devices) or aircraft.
